The International Village Shop is a growing trans-local network of cultural producers who set up trading places for goods with strong local connections.

The shop will be part of "Das Dorf" (The Village) programme at the Kunsthaus Langenthal in Switzerland.

Der Laden wird Teil des Programms "Das Dorf" im Kunsthaus Langenthal in der Schweiz sein.
Die Ausstellung thematisiert das Dorf mit seinen Minderwertigkeitsgefühlen, den nachbarschaftlichen Verpflichtungen, aber auch der Freiheit, kein Zentrum sein zu müssen. Keine Metropole sein zu wollen birgt das Potenzial, als Biotop für alternative Lebensentwürfe anders zu bleiben. Und gehen die Menschen in Langenthal ins Zentrum ihrer Stadt, sagen sie: «Wir gehen ins Dorf.»
Zur Ausstellung erscheint ein Katalog mit Texten von Madeleine Emmenegger, Fanni Fetzer, Benedikt Loderer, Eveline Suter. In the catalogue Eveline Suter wrote a text about this Langenthaler shop by myvillages.org (catalogue available over Kunsthaus Langenthal http://www.kunsthauslangenthal.ch ) .

The shop is open during the show. It is important to tell good stories to all products and have fun with people. As the shop is part of a show, the entrance that people pay to see the show is returned when the visitors are buying goods in the shop. In the shop the Village Product Films (twelve meanwhile) are running in a loop.
